When we found out about our long-awaited pregnancy, we were overjoyed. And of course, we were looking forward to the ultrasound where we would be told the sex of the baby. But with a small correction. There we decided not to recognise it after all. We deliberately asked not to tell us, but to write on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. Despite the fact that the hospital was a state hospital, the doctor kindly agreed. And all the ultrasound was watching herself, although there were a couple of moments when out of habit almost blabbed)). And still, at the end of the cherished envelope was with us.
Oh, what willpower my husband and I have, we are shocked! To be honest, I thought we would get home from the hospital and immediately someone would not stand for it and peek. But it was fine.
We immediately agreed that we wanted to find out the sex in some unusual way and ideally capture it all on photo/video. And then we started brainstorming and searching the internet to find out how to do it. And now, I would like to share with you a selection of the coolest ways to find out and tell everyone who you have settled there, boy or girl. And at the end, I will write what option we finally chose and even show a photo.
AH, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THIS BUSINESS! You should have a trusted person - a friend, girlfriend, mum, dad. Someone to whom you will entrust the envelope, who will definitely not tell anyone (first of all - you), and will prepare this surprise for you. And whichever option you choose, don't forget to film your reaction, it's priceless, no matter what the quality of the footage!
- Burn out
If I had learnt or guessed about this method earlier, I would have chosen it! It looks very effective both live and on the recording. But this method is not very budget friendly as it uses coloured tyres, which is not cheap. Plus you'll need to find a car with rear-wheel drive (I'll make it easy, look for drift cars). - Bursting a big balloon
Inside the balloon can be a large pile of small balls of the desired colour, large confetti, or coloured paint powder. - With umbrella
And again you'll need the help of a friend or family member. Ask them to put confetti or the desired colour in the umbrella. - Cake
The most popular and affordable option is baking. By the way, in this case you can do without a third person, and just hand the envelope directly to the confectioner. Inside will be either cakes or cream of the desired colour, it's up to your taste and imagination, you can also put coloured dragees like M&m's in the middle. In addition to the cake, you can also make cupcakes for all the guests if you are having a party. - Balls in a box
You need a big box, and helium balloons so they are sure to fly to the top when you open it. - Chameleon mug
Such a surprise can be used not only to find out the sex, but also to inform the future grandparents that they will soon become such))))) (And your husband that he is going to be a dad). Only a box of balloons will be cheaper, but only if your loved ones, not an agency, do it. - Smoke bombs
And finally, our option. We thought for a long time how to organise everything, if I'm not mistaken, it was 2 (!!!) months since the ultrasound. We thought we'd have a party, with cake and decorations. Then to do it together and call only a photographer. In the end we decided that we do not want to share it with anyone, that it should be only OUR moment. We gave the envelope to our friend @hamster_danil, part-time director of @daki.market, and asked him to buy two smoke bombs of the right colour. He taped and painted them black on top so that nothing could be seen from the packaging. If you take professional photos and videos, it will be great. We coincidentally got everything in a hurry, and not so high quality, but still heartwarming and exciting. In any case, it will be a vivid memory for life.
